Wisdom for 2008: Living in Service

In my reading over the holidays, I came across these powerful words of wisdom from Greek classics scholar Gilbert Murray:

"Live in the service of something higher and more enduring, so that when the tragic transience of life at last breaks upon you, you can feel that the thing for which you have lived does not die."

Quoted in Living Your Unlived Life by Robert A. Johnson and Jerry M. Ruhl, Ph.D.

Todd, #1: I've always known you to be a man OF deep ethics and compassion; #2: I see now that you are also a man ABOUT deep ethics and compassion. Thanks so for your hu-u-u-uge effort aggregating all this info, processing it, and shouting it so eloquently from your e-rooftop! JeffC

Ethical wills provide us all the opportunity to share our wisdom, however, it also allows us the opportunity to share our humor with one another. While many technical wills focus only on the business side of passing away, a spiritual ethical will allows us to take care of the emotional needs of the people we leave behind as well.
